Motorcycle air filter BMC Race FM300/04RACE

Maintaining the same shape as the OEM version, the BMC Race filters offer an increased air flow typical of BMC products, but at a more extreme level. By reducing the cotton layers from 4 to 3, the air delivery is even higher. This is why the BMC Race filters are only recommended for sport use on a track, as the increased air flow can lead to poor carburetion (more air than necessary) or injection (the control unit struggles to manage the stoichiometric mix correctly). To avoid this issue, it's necessary to reprogram the control unit, resulting in a significant performance boost.

For easy identification, the BMC Race filters have the word "Race" at the end of the product code and a yellow line on the filter element.

Why choose a BMC air filter?

General information

The panel/cylindrical air filter is commonly called a "replacement air filter." It is installed in the original airbox of the vehicle to replace the OEM air filter. It is made from high-performance materials that allow for increased air flow combined with more efficient filtration, ensuring the retention of all impurities from 7 microns (compared to 10 microns for the OEM).

The BMC air filters are produced using a "Full Moulding" system that allows the creation of the characteristic red filter from a single mould without welded joints, thus preventing easy breakage. The rubber used in BMC air filtration systems has a long lifespan, is very durable, and has optimal adhesion features to all shapes of airboxes.

The BMC filters consist of a multi-layer, oil-soaked cotton gauze covered with an epoxy-coated alloy mesh to protect against gasoline vapours and oxidation due to air humidity.

All BMC air filters are pre-oiled, and they can be washed and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
