The characteristics of a cotton filter can be simply summarised: permeability, filtration, retention, reuse.

Permeability: provide the least resistance for maximum airflow
Filtration: prevent foreign bodies from entering

The racing range is the track version for the most common motorcycle models. It has the same shape as the "Standard" version but with a different filtration material to further increase airflow (+25%) without losing its properties. The Racing range is identifiable by the orange line running through the filtration body.
